A New Look and A New Page

In an attempt to freshen the look of our blog, I spent some time this morning working with my wizard graphic designer and between the two of us we tweaked our look just enough to make me happy, but not so much as to have our readers wonder if they landed on the wrong blog.  Do you see the differences?  And, I added a page to the blog titled, Breakfast!  Because after all, we are a Bed & "Breakfast" Inn, right?!

Last summer I was way too busy (and mildly wildly crazed) trying to figure out how to have breakfast for 12 come out of the kitchen all at the same time, which left absolutely no time to photograph plates full of deliciousness.  I always knew I could cook (no brag, just fact) but it took a couple of weeks of trial and error to figure out the pacing of how much time was needed from prep to cook to serve.  Once I nailed that down there were so many other things that needed demanded my attention, such as why are the glass serving bowls on the shelf next to the stove where bacon grease flies?  So,  I never managed to take many photos.  Now that my kitchen is organized the way I want it and the pacing is a matter of routine; and with the new stove/oven (no more cursing/kicking the old one) I am good to go.  The camera now sits on the kitchen shelf ready for action!

All this to say there is now a veritable feast for the eyes on our page titled, Breakfast, and I will continue to add to the page as I cook my way through the 2012 season.  I will also be posting recipes from time to time (although I can't give away all of my shortcuts secrets) but I will share.

Back to the beginning... haven't figured out the changes to the blog site?  There is now an updated photo of the house, which switched sides with the postcard. The photo has been enhanced to give it the look of canvas.  We have lightened the background wallpaper (it was feeling a little like the haunted mansion at Disneyland) and we added the two butterflies because they flit and flutter around our website and all things such as note cards and stationary. And when I say "we," I mean my graphic designer.  She is the wiz behind the scenes, but I take all of the credit!

So take a look at the new page (it's okay if you drool) and stay tuned because there is SO much more to come.  Thanks for reading!

  1. Great new page ! Look forward to seeing your Breakfast too. My house is open plan so six hungry guests sitting watching me cook and no time to take photos. Twelve guests for Breakfast - I just wouldn't sleep at all! Take care Christine
